Our Community Interest Company (Westcoast Kent CIC) was set up in 2013 to further facilitate the vision and aims of Eli Thompson, entrepreneur and owner of Olby’s Soul Café. Eli spent the years leading up to that point developing the event space and business premises, whilst establishing a series of historically connected music-led events to celebrate our town’s close relationship with Great British Music Culture.
Eli’s career goes as far back as the late 80s, during which he worked closely with the likes of The Specials and The Pogues in both a touring and production capacity.
With its strong delivery team, the CIC now continues this work within its newly developed community hub space at the iconic Olby’s building. We have the capacity to deliver events and offer rehearsal, performance and learning opportunities to grassroots performers and combined arts groups.
